Listen to this, and tell us what it sounds like because we are totally fascinated by the soulful sound of this incredible project titled Broken Winter performed by Phantom Thrett, rapper/producer from California.
The young artist hits & convinces us, thanks a mature and original approach as well as compelling rhymes. Mister Thrett teamed up with a superlative team producers from Norway: Loop.Holes composed by Type Raw , Loot Fatting , Filliboomboombap , Vizcatiabeats and Marshtin . The final result of this interesting collabo between Phantom Thrett and Loop.Hole , is a lil masterpiece that combines hip hop mellow tones with jazzy good vibrations.

Phantom Thrett’s Broken Winter has finally been released. We talked about it here and here. If you’re into smooth and/or positive Hip Hop and/or like light, bright, airy and once again smooth sounding harmonies and melodies, then this is for you. Thrett’s lyrical content is, from what I’ve heard, and all over this album, never about the superficial. He takes visceral experience, writes about it, and makes music inspired by it, and even if he is touching on the more negative aspects of the human experience, there is always some sort of positive spin on it. He has a well polished and extremely natural sounding delivery, his voice is animated and there is variation in his pitch, plenty of inflection, he isn’t monotonous. It is really fitting for his style.
His flow isn’t repetitive, it changes up both within tracks, and track for track. Obviously everyone has their own general rhythm style(s), but he is mixing and matching his natural rhythms, along with the rhythms and percussions of the beats to create some sort of dynamic.
